Seeding Rock Wool CubesOur rock wool substrate is a prime choice for greenhouse farming,
floriculture, medicinal herb cultivation, vertical greening,
planting walls, and home gardening, among other applications.
Rock wool Cubes facilitate seamless seed and cutting initiation, ensuring uniform root growth throughout the entire cube. These cubes can fit into any standard rock wool blocks, and can also be used with Aqua Clay, Perlite, Coco fibre mixes, and most other growing media.
Rock wool is crafted from molten basalt and limestone, spun into fibers and then formed into cubes, blocks, or slabs. It is a robust and versatile growing medium.
When handling rock wool, always use gloves and a mask. The fibers can irritate the skin and lungs if inhaled.
1. Avoid squeezing Rock wool, especially when it is wet.
2. Pre-condition Rock wool in pH 5.5 water to dissolve lime before use.
3. Pre-soak Rock wool for 30 seconds to 30 minutes, depending on its size.
4. Water plants only when there's light; never water in the dark.
5. Maintain an optimal room temperature of 18.5-28°C for most species. Temperatures above 26.7°C inside the growing media reduce oxygen levels, promoting root disease.
6. In low light, water with greater volume but fewer cycles, and vice versa.
7. Avoid keeping Rock wool overly wet. Excessive algae growth indicates overwatering. Minimize watering during the early stages of plant growth. Too much water can hinder root setting, crucial for healthy plant development.
