Seeding Rock Wool CubesOur premium rock wool substrate is tailor-made for greenhouse farming,
floriculture, medicinal herb cultivation, vertical greening,
planting walls, and home gardening, among other applications.
Rock Wool Cubes are ideal for the effortless germination of seeds and cuttings, ensuring uniform root development throughout the entire cube. They fit seamlessly into the holes of any standard rock wool blocks and can also be used with Aqua Clay, Perlite, Coco fiber mixes, and most other growing mediums.
Rock wool is a type of mineral wool crafted from molten basalt and limestone rock, spun into fine fibers, and then compressed into cubes, blocks, or slabs.
Exercise caution when handling rock wool by wearing gloves and a mask. The fibers can irritate the skin, and inhalation can cause lung irritation.
1. Avoid squeezing the Rock Wool, especially when it's wet.
2. Always pre-condition Rock Wool in pH 5.5 water to dissolve any lime.
3. Pre-soak for 30 seconds to 30 minutes, depending on the Rock Wool size.
4. Water only during periods of light - never water in darkness.
5. Maintain an optimum growing environment temperature of 18.5-28°C for most species. Temperatures above 26.7°C within the growing media can deplete oxygen levels, fostering root diseases.
6. Under low light conditions, water with larger volumes but fewer cycles - and vice versa.
7. Avoid keeping Rock Wool overly saturated. Excessive algae growth indicates overwatering. Minimize watering when plants are young, as too much water can inhibit root establishment, which is crucial for healthy growth.
