Rock wool Cubes are designed to effortlessly start seeds and cuttings, promoting uniform root development throughout the cube. They fit seamlessly into any standard rock wool blocks and can be used with Aqua Clay, Perlite, Coco fibre mixes, and most other growing mediums.
Rock wool is a high-quality mineral wool crafted from molten basalt and limestone, spun into fibers, and compressed into cubes, blocks, or slabs, ensuring reliability and performance.
Handling rock wool requires caution. Always wear gloves and a mask to prevent skin irritation and lung discomfort from inhaled fibers.
1. Avoid squeezing Rock wool, especially when it is wet to maintain its structural integrity.
2. Pre-condition Rock wool in pH 5.5 water before use to dissolve lime and optimize performance.
3. Pre-soak Rock wool for 30 seconds to 30 minutes, depending on its size, to ensure proper hydration.
4. Water plants only during daylight hours. Watering in the dark can encourage disease.
5. Maintain an optimum room temperature of 18.5-28°C for most species. Higher temperatures within the growing media can reduce oxygen levels and promote root disease.
6. Adjust watering based on light levels: more water with fewer cycles for low light, and vice versa.
7. Avoid overwatering Rock wool. Excess moisture leads to algae growth and hinders root development, crucial for healthy plant growth.
