Seeding Rock Wool CubesOur premium rock wool substrate is the ideal choice for greenhouse farming,
floriculture, medicinal herb cultivation, vertical greening,
planting walls, and even home gardening, among other applications.
Rock Wool Cubes are designed for effortless seeding and cutting propagation, ensuring uniform root development throughout each cube. They seamlessly integrate into the holes of standard rock wool blocks and can be used alongside Aqua Clay, Perlite, Coco fiber mixes, and most other growing mediums.
Rock wool is a high-quality mineral wool derived from molten basalt and limestone rock, spun into resilient fibers that are then compressed into cubes, blocks, or slabs.
When handling rock wool, always wear gloves and a mask. The fibers can irritate the skin and, if inhaled, may also affect the lungs.
1. Avoid squeezing rock wool, especially when it is wet.
2. Pre-condition rock wool in water with a pH of 5.5 to dissolve any residual lime before use.
3. Pre-soak the rock wool for 30 seconds to 30 minutes, depending on its size.
4. Only water the rock wool when there's light-never in the dark.
5. The optimal room temperature for the growing environment is 18.5°C to 28°C for most species. Temperatures above 26.7°C in the growing media can lead to depleted oxygen levels, which encourages root diseases.
6. With low light, water with a greater volume but fewer cycles, and vice versa.
7. Do not keep rock wool excessively wet. Excessive algae growth is a sign of overwatering. Minimize watering while the plant is young, as too much water can inhibit essential root development.
