Seeding Rock Wool CubesOur premium rock wool substrate is ideally suited for greenhouse farming,
floriculture, herb medicine cultivation, three-dimensional greening,
planting walls, and home gardening, among other applications.
Rock wool Cubes facilitate easy germination of seeds and cuttings, offering uniform root development throughout the entire cube. These cubes can fit into the holes of standard rock wool blocks and can also be used with Aqua Clay, Perlite, Coco fibre mixes, and most growing mediums.
Rock wool is a mineral wool manufactured from molten basalt and limestone rock, spun into fibers, and then compressed into cubes, blocks, or slabs.
Exercise caution when handling rock wool by wearing gloves and a mask. The fibers can irritate the skin, and if inhaled, they can also irritate the lungs.
1. Avoid squeezing the rock wool, particularly when it is wet.
2. Always pre-condition rock wool in pH 5.5 water before use to dissolve lime.
3. Pre-soak the rock wool for 30 seconds to 30 minutes, depending on its size.
4. Water only when there is light-never water in the dark.
5. The optimal room temperature for the growing environment is between 18.5°C and 28°C for most species. Temperatures above 26.7°C within the growing media can lead to decreased oxygen levels, promoting root disease.
6. With low light, water in larger volumes but fewer cycles, and vice versa.
7. Do NOT keep rock wool excessively wet. Algae growth is a sign of overwatering. Minimize watering when the plant is young, as too much water prevents root establishment, essential for healthy plant growth.
