Seeding Rock Wool CubesOur premium rock wool substrate is perfectly suited for greenhouse farming,
floriculture, medicinal herb cultivation, three-dimensional greening,
planting walls, and home gardening, among other applications.
Rock wool Cubes are designed to facilitate effortless seed germination and cutting propagation, ensuring even root development throughout the entire cube. These versatile cubes can seamlessly fit into any standard rock wool blocks or be combined with Aqua Clay, Perlite, Coco fibre mixes, and most growing mediums.
Rock wool is a mineral wool derived from molten basalt and limestone rock, which is spun into fibers and then compressed into cubes, blocks, or slabs.
Exercise caution when handling rock wool by wearing gloves and a mask. The fibers can cause skin irritation and, if inhaled, may irritate the lungs.
1. Avoid squeezing Rock wool, especially when it's wet.
2. Always pre-condition Rock wool in pH 5.5 water before use to dissolve lime.
3. Pre-soak Rock wool for 30 seconds to 30 minutes, depending on its size.
4. Water only when there's light-never water in the dark.
5. Maintain an optimal growing environment temperature of 18.5°C to 28°C for most species. Temperatures above 26.7°C in the growing media deplete oxygen levels, promoting root disease.
6. With low light, water with greater volume but fewer cycles, and vice versa.
7. Avoid keeping Rock wool excessively wet. Excess algae growth indicates overwatering. Minimize watering while the plant is young, as excessive moisture inhibits essential root establishment.
