Seeding Rock Wool CubesOur premium rock wool substrate is perfectly tailored for greenhouse farming,
floriculture, medicinal herb cultivation, three-dimensional greening,
planting walls, and home gardening, among other applications.
Rock wool Cubes are designed to effortlessly initiate the growth of seeds and cuttings, promoting even root development throughout the entire cube. These versatile cubes can fit into the holes of any standard rock wool blocks and can also be used with Aqua Clay, Perlite, Coco fiber mixes, and most growing mediums.
Rock wool is a high-quality mineral wool, crafted from molten basalt and limestone rock, spun into fibers, and then meticulously compressed into cubes, blocks, or slabs.
It is crucial to handle rock wool with care by wearing gloves and a mask, as the fibers can irritate the skin and, if inhaled, can also irritate the lungs.
1. Avoid squeezing the Rock wool, especially when it is wet.
2. Always pre-condition Rock wool in pH 5.5 water before use to dissolve lime.
3. Pre-soak the Rock wool for 30 seconds to 30 minutes, depending on its size.
4. Water only during the light hours - never water in the dark.
5. The optimum room temperature for the growing environment is between 18.5°C and 28°C for most species. Temperatures exceeding 26.7°C within the growing medium can deplete oxygen levels, encouraging root disease.
6. Under low light conditions, water with a higher volume but fewer cycles, and vice versa.
7. Do NOT keep Rock wool excessively wet. Excessive algae growth is a sign of overwatering. Reduce watering when the plant is young. Excessive water hinders root development, which is vital for growing a healthy plant.
