Seeding Rock Wool CubesOur premium rock wool substrate is perfectly suited for greenhouse farming,
floriculture, medicinal herb cultivation, innovative three-dimensional greening,
vertical planting walls, and home gardening applications.
Rock Wool Cubes provide an ideal environment for starting seeds and cuttings, promoting uniform root development throughout the cube. They fit seamlessly into any standard rock wool blocks and can also be used alongside Aqua Clay, Perlite, Coco fiber mixes, and most growing mediums.
Rock wool is a high-quality mineral wool produced from molten basalt and limestone, spun into fibers, and then compressed into cubes, blocks, or slabs.
When handling rock wool, it is essential to wear gloves and a mask as the fibers can irritate the skin and lungs.
1. Refrain from squeezing the Rock wool, especially when it is wet.
2. Always pre-condition Rock wool in pH 5.5 water to dissolve lime before use.
3. Pre-soak the Rock wool for 30 seconds to 30 minutes, depending on its size.
4. Water only when there is light; never water in the dark.
5. The optimal room temperature for the growing environment is 18.5-28°C for most species. Temperatures above 26.7°C within the growing media can deplete oxygen levels, encouraging root disease.
6. With low light, use more water but fewer cycles, and vice versa.
7. Do NOT keep Rock wool excessively wet. The presence of algae indicates over-watering. Minimize watering when the plant is young, as too much water can prevent proper root establishment, which is crucial for healthy growth.
