Rock wool Cubes simplify seed starting and cuttings, ensuring even root development throughout the cube. They fit standard rock wool blocks and are compatible with Aqua Clay, Perlite, Coco fibre mixes, and most growing mediums.
Crafted from molten basalt and limestone, Rock wool is spun into fine fibers and compressed into cubes, blocks, or slabs, creating a versatile and effective mineral wool.
Handle rock wool with care. Always wear gloves and a mask to avoid skin and lung irritation from the fibers.
1. Avoid squeezing the Rock wool, especially when it's wet, to maintain its structure.
2. Pre-condition Rock wool in pH 5.5 water before use to dissolve any lime.
3. Pre-soak the Rock wool for 30 seconds to 30 minutes, depending on its size.
4. Water the Rock wool only when there's light, never in the dark, to promote healthy growth.
5. Maintain an optimal room temperature of 18.5°C to 28°C for most species. Temperatures above 26.7°C in the growing medium can lead to depleted oxygen levels and root disease.
6. With low light, increase water volume but reduce watering cycles, and vice versa.
7. Avoid keeping Rock wool excessively wet. Over-watering can lead to algae growth and hinder root development, essential for healthy plants.
