Seeding Rock Wool CubesOur premium rock wool substrate is meticulously designed for optimal performance in greenhouse farming.
It's ideal for a diverse array of applications including floriculture, medicinal herb cultivation, three-dimensional greening,
vertical planting walls, and even home gardening.
Rock wool Cubes ensure the easy germination of seeds and cuttings by promoting uniform root development throughout each cube. These versatile cubes can fit seamlessly into the holes of standard rock wool blocks and are also compatible with Aqua Clay, Perlite, Coco fiber mixes, and most other growing mediums.
Crafted from molten basalt and limestone, rock wool is spun into fine fibers and then compressed into various forms like cubes, blocks, or slabs.
When handling rock wool, it's essential to wear gloves and a mask. The fibers can irritate the skin and lungs if they come into contact or are inhaled.
1. Avoid squeezing the rock wool, especially when it's wet.
2. Always pre-condition rock wool in pH 5.5 water to dissolve any lime before use.
3. Pre-soak rock wool for 30 seconds to 30 minutes, depending on its size.
4. Water only when there's light; avoid watering in the dark.
5. Maintain an optimum growing environment temperature of 18.5°C to 28°C for most species. Temperatures above 26.7°C in the growing media can deplete oxygen levels and encourage root disease.
6. With low light, increase the volume of water but reduce watering cycles, and vice versa.
7. Do NOT keep rock wool excessively wet. Algae growth is a sign of overwatering. Minimize watering when the plant is young, as too much water can prevent essential root development.
