Rock Wool Cubes are designed for effortless seed and cutting propagation, ensuring uniform root development throughout the entire cube. They can be easily placed into the holes of standard rock wool blocks or used in combination with Aqua Clay, Perlite, Coco fibre mixes, and most other growing mediums.
Rock wool is a type of mineral wool derived from molten basalt and limestone rock. These materials are spun into fibers and compressed into various forms like cubes, blocks, or slabs.
Ensure safety by wearing gloves and a mask when handling rock wool. The fibers can irritate the skin and lungs if inhaled.
1. Avoid squeezing the Rock wool, especially when it's wet to maintain its structure.
2. Always pre-condition Rock wool in pH 5.5 water to dissolve lime before use.
3. Pre-soak the Rock wool for 30 seconds to 30 minutes, depending on its size, to prepare it for planting.
4. Water only in light conditions; avoid watering in the dark to prevent root disease.
5. The optimal room temperature for most species is between 18.5°C to 28°C. Temperatures exceeding 26.7°C can deplete oxygen levels in the growing medium, encouraging root disease.
6. In low light conditions, water with more volume but fewer cycles, and vice versa.
7. Do not keep Rock wool excessively wet. Overwatering can lead to algae growth and hinder root setting, which is crucial for healthy plant growth. Reduce watering when plants are young.
