Seeding Rock Wool CubesOur Rock Wool substrate is the perfect choice for greenhouse farming,
floriculture, herb medicine cultivation, vertical greening,
planting walls, and home gardening, among other uses.
Rock Wool Cubes facilitate the seamless initiation of seeds and cuttings, ensuring uniform root development throughout the cube. They can be easily integrated into the holes of standard rock wool blocks and are compatible with Aqua Clay, Perlite, Coco fiber mixes, and most growing mediums.
Rock Wool is a premium mineral wool derived from molten basalt and limestone rock. These materials are expertly spun into fibers and compressed into versatile forms such as cubes, blocks, or slabs.
When handling Rock Wool, it's essential to wear gloves and a mask. The fibers can irritate the skin, and inhalation may cause lung irritation.
1. Avoid squeezing Rock Wool, especially when wet.
2. Pre-condition Rock Wool in pH 5.5 water to dissolve lime before use.
3. Pre-soak for 30 seconds to 30 minutes, depending on the size of the Rock Wool.
4. Water only during daylight hours-never water in the dark.
5. Maintain an optimal growing environment temperature of 18.5-28°C. Temperatures above 26.7°C within the growing media can deplete oxygen levels, promoting root disease.
6. With low light, water with more volume in fewer cycles-and vice versa.
7. Avoid keeping Rock Wool excessively wet. A significant presence of algae indicates overwatering. Minimize watering during the plant's early stages, as excessive moisture can hinder root establishment, vital for healthy plant growth.
